Plymouth Color Logo2014This week the Board of Public Works and Safety approved change order number one for the Richter Road water main extension project.

In October Utility Superintendent Donnie Davidson told the board the project was substantially complete with only a few minor punch-list items to complete. On Monday night Davidson said the project was a unit price contract with estimated quantities at the beginning.  While there were several increases and decreased he highlighted one of the larger increases, $4,940 for additional water main installed.  Deductions in the project included those for asphalt replacement and back fill. In the end, change order # 1 was an increase of $1,070.

Davidson also asked for the contractor’s final pay, retainage and the change order in the amount of $6,948.75.

The Board of Public Works and Safety also approved the request of Fire Chief Rod Miller to cover two volunteer who have paid for and taken an advanced EMT class.  The pair are now ready for their practical training which requires liability insurance coverage from the city to cover them.

Miller said there is no additional cost to cover the pair on the city’s insurance.  This approval will allow them to be covered on the city’s liability policy and permit them to function as city personnel while doing their practical training at Goshen Health.
