Orchestra photo op 2017 ChristmasThe Marshall County Church Orchestra has diligently been rehearsing for their annual “A Classical Christmas” concert which will usher in the holiday season for all who attend.  Under the direction of Don Harness the 40 piece orchestra is preparing a memorable line-up of holiday music that will appeal to young and old alike.

The audience will be captivated from the opening fanfare of “O Come, All Ye Faithful” to the dramatic finale’ “hold” of “The Hallelujah Chorus” plus every song in-between.

The collection of Christmas songs include the light-hearted “Jingle-Bell Rock” as well as the ever-cynical humor of “You’re A Mean One, Mr. Grinch”, sung by orchestra member David Pinkham.  Other vocalists throughout the evening include:   Brad Beatty and Robin Smith.  Laura Stutzman and Jim Davis return as guest vocalists harmonizing on the beautifully orchestrated “I Wonder As I Wander”.

The low brass section will provide an instrumental trio with “Angels We Have Heard On High”.   A trumpet sextet will perform “Carol of the Bells”.

“A Classical Christmas” includes 18 musical selections which were chosen by orchestra members Annette Ray and Cindy Flagg.  Flagg wrote and will present the narration.
