On Wednesday morning, September 27th, just after 4 o’clock Plymouth Police units were dispatched to the Economy Inn on North Michigan Street for a reported domestic battery.
While officers were en route, the victim advised 911 that the male suspect fled the scene running south bound on Michigan Street.
Officer TIm Taberski made contact with the caller who identified the male suspect as 39 year old Earnest Boens of Plymouth. A report was taken and the area was searched for the suspect but Mr. Boens was not located.
At approximately 8:40 Wednesday morning Detective Sgt. Leo Mangus located earnest Boens in the area of Michigan Street and US 30. He transported Mr. Boens to the Marshall County Jail where he was lodged on a misdemeanor charge of Domestic Battery and held on a $2,250 cash bond.
Listeners and readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
