The Plymouth City Council took only minutes to pass the proposed 2018 city budget during their September 25 meeting. The $11.7 million budget with a tax rate of $2.0073 had been passed on first reading at an earlier meeting and then combined on second and third readings on Monday.
Clerk-Treasurer Jeanine Xavier had indicated previously that she expects the final tax rate to be $0.10-$0.20 lower than the advertised rate. The 2017 advertised tax was $1.9863 with the final rate at $1.6331.
The six council members present made no further comments before voting unanimously in approval. Council member Shawn Grobe was absent from the meeting.
