County news # 2It was a quick meeting for the Marshall County Drainage Board Monday.

In a specially called meeting, County Surveyor Craig Coltice opened four bids for a maintenance project on the Baker Arm to the Sarber Ditch in Polk Township.  The project calls for the contractor to clean and de-brush approximately 2300 feet of the ditch.

Last month no bids were received on the project.  It was suspected the April 1st completion date was the reasoning.  The county drainage board extended the completion date to May 1st hoping to attract contractors to bid on the project, and it worked.

Four bids were received and ranged from $28,850 on the high end to $6,050 on the low side.  LDP Excavating from Warsaw was awarded the project with the low bid.
