Washington, D.C. – Thursday, U.S. Senator Joe Donnelly, a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, called on Attorney General Jeff Sessions to recuse himself from any investigation into Russia’s interference with the 2016 elections or our country’s leaders.

Donnelly said, “The American people deserve a fair and thorough investigation into Russian interference in our country’s democratic institutions and influence on key leaders before and after last year’s election. That is why I have called for a Select Committee to lead this effort. It is clear that Attorney General Sessions is not able to conduct such an investigation credibly; he should recuse himself immediately and explain what he discussed with Russian Ambassador Kislyak in their meetings.”My Approved Portraits

In December, Donnelly called for a bipartisan Senate Select Committee to investigate Russia’s hacking and interference in the 2016 elections. Donnelly has not met with Ambassador Kislyak.
