The Weidner School of Inquiry’s BioArt class will be hosting the fifth “Clay For Cancer” night at Plymouth High School on Monday, March 6, from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Freshman students in Haley Church and Phil Koops BioArt classes have been busy creating their own personal clay artwork. Each student created a one of a kind clay piece of art that will be available for purchase by bidding at the silent auction during the evening. Proceeds raised during the evening will be donated to the Cancer Association of Marshall County.
Not only do the students create their individual clay pieces and write a personal statement on why they created the specific piece, they also team up and learn about a specific type of cancer. The group then creates a presentation that gives information on the cancer, treatments, prevention and case studies students have research.
Participants are encouraged to walk though the gallery style area and listen to the various presentations.
This is the fourth year for the Clay for Cancer event. During the first year, in 2014, two Clay for Cancer events were held.
If you plan to attend this year’s event, you are asked to park and enter near the south Plymouth High School door marked Door #8.
