The Marshall County Commissioners opened sealed bids on the Apple Road Bridge replacement project during Monday morning’s meeting.
Four companies submitted bids for the project; Anlaan Corporation in Grand Haven, MI bid $439,810.90 for the total installation. Other companies submitting quotes were JCI Bridge Group from LaPorte for $417,594.49; Northern Indiana Construction Company from Mishawaka for $428,339.65 and LaPorte Construction Inc. for $274,774.68.
The bids were taken under review and it’s anticipated the project will be awarded at the March 6th Commissioner’s meeting.
Laurie Baker, administrator for the County Highway Department presented copies of the 2016 Phase II Bridge Inspection to the commissioners and presented the sales agreement for the Caterpillar paver so the order could be placed. Deliver is anticipated for early June.
