Solid WasteMembers of the Marshall County Solid Waste Management District Board of Directors considered the recommendation of Beth Styers from Teachers Credit Union to change their current 3 year CD over to one being offered as a special incentive with a much higher interest.

Marianne Peters, Director of the Solid Waste Management District said their current CD of over $103,000 at TCU has an interest rate of .48%.  She said Styers suggested moving it to a 35 month CD with an interest rate of 1.61% or a 59 month CD with an interest rate of 2.04%.

After some discussion the Board of Directors for Solid Waste motioned to move the current CD over to a 35 month money market CD with an interest rate more than a whole percent higher than they currently have.

Peters also presented the financial report showing over $157,000 in the rainy day fund, $316,714 in the First Federal Saving Bank savings account and $42,078 in the First Federal Saving Bank checking account.
