Plymouth High School Senior Alejandra Diaz Wins Regional Cover Design Competition (1024x576)Plymouth High School senior Alejandra Diaz was recently selected as the winner of the Region 2 Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG) cover design competition.

The competition allowed JAG students to design a cover for the annual Career Development Regional Conference that will be held in South Bend on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at the South Bend Kroc Center.

Diaz, a student in the JAG program at Plymouth High School, created the artwork while in her fifth hour JAG II class.

Eliot Jeremiah, a JAG Team Leader for WorkOne Northern Indiana based out of Elkhart County, said a team of ten Michiana working professionals served as judges in the Region 2 cover design competition and ultimately chose Diaz’s design to go on the front cover of the brochure for the regional competition.

Plymouth High School JAG Specialist Cari Sharpe said, “Diaz automatically advances to the the state competition in Indianapolis on March 17, 2017 and competes against the other 11 regions throughout the state.”

Sharpe said Alejandra not only created the cover design, but she has created the PHS JAG program’s blog, and is also helping create the PHS JAG promotional video that will be used to compete against several other Michiana schools at the upcoming regional Career Development Conference.  “I am very proud of Alejandra for her accomplishments and her hard work,” said Sharpe.

Sharpe noted that Alejandra and several other PHS JAG students will also be competing in other categories at the regional conference next week in South Bend.

JAG is a WorkOne sponsored program and is a state-based national non-profit organization dedicated to helping youth develop employment skills to succeed in their career pathway for life after graduation! This is the third year Plymouth High School has offered the JAG program for students.
