Three employees from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department will attend SunGard’s Public Safety Users Group Training in Nashville, TN with this week’s approval from the County Commissioners for out-of-state travel.
Sheriff Matt Hassel asked to have three department employees attend the training on the jail’s software in June. He also asked to have Larry Snyder from the County’s IT department attend the training and offered to pay for his expenses excluding the hourly pay which would have to be paid for through the IT department.
The sheriff said Larry was instrumental in setting up the system at the jail when he was an officer there and expertise that is very useful when issues arise.
The commissioners approved the out-of-state travel for all four and will allow Michael Marshall, Head of the county’s IT to determine if Snyder will be able to attend the training.
