The Project Produce grant continues at Triton Elementary School.
This week, students were served Jicama. Jicama is a sweet, root vegetable that looks like a turnip. The cafeteria ladies peeled and sliced the jicama then sprinkled it with tajin seasoning to add a bit of spice.
A total of 374 students tasted it. 120 students liked jicama and 254 did not like it.
