The Riverside 6th Grade A team traveled to North Liberty and extended their win streak to 6 games with a 38-16 win over the Shamrocks. Their defense was good, but the penetration on the offense was better. Lots of scoring from good passing. Davis Wray lead the way for the A team with 15 points. Easton Strain chipped in 7, Roman Snedeker added 5, Timmy Wakeland had 4, Trey Hall had 3, and Brock Jensen and Nolan Bales each had 2. The A team will be in action again on Thursday as they travel to Wawasee.

The Riverside 6th Grade B team also played the Shamrocks of North Liberty and came away with a 31-23 win. North Liberty made a late push, but the Rockets were able to hang on to continue their undefeated season. Connor Schmeidlin lead the B team with 15 points. Dominic Giordano added 6 points. Michael Sheeley had 4 points, Shane Abberger, Landon Hall, and Dillon Davidson all had 2 points. The B team will also be in action on Thursday against Wawasee.
The 5th Grade Rockets hosted North Liberty on Tuesday and it was a classic.  The Rockets jumped out to a 7-0 lead after the 1st quarter, with Ryan Tremaine hitting a half court shot at the buzzer.  North Liberty clawed back in the 2nd, making it 11-9 at halftime.  Some lead changes occurred in the third, and once the Rockets took the lead back, it was for good.  The Rockets came away with the victory 27-23 in the end.  It was truly a team effort, as the entire team earned Defensive MVP honors.  Ryan Tremaine led the Rockets in scoring with 7 points.  When North Liberty shut Tremaine down for the rest of the game, it was Coby Walters and Caleb Bowling that took over in the 2nd half, each scoring 6 points.  It was the heart and guts of Max Lewandowski, Jaxson Warner’s boxing out, Cray Barden’s taking it strong to the hole, and the hustle plays of Alex Harding and Tre Jordan that pushed the Rockets to victory.  The Rockets finish the regular season with a 7-1 record.

In the B game, the Rockets took an early lead and never looked back, winning 10-5.  Skyler Ganshorn scored all 6 points for the Rockets in the first half, while Tanner Gault and Chris Johnson’s last second shot in the third gave them the other 4 points.  Colton Sellers did a great job running the offense.  The B team finishes the regular season with a 6-1 record.

Both teams will compete in a tournament on Saturday at the Launching Pad.  The tournament will start at 9 A.M.  Come out and support the team for all of the hard work that they have put in this season.
