school-boardThe Plymouth School Board voted unanimously to approve the contract of Superintendent Daniel Tyree. The action was taken during the December 5 board meeting.

The Board held a public hearing on November 1st for patrons to comment on the contract.  With hearing only one clarification question from the audience, the hearing was closed only three minutes after it was opened.

The contract will be effective from July 1, 2015 until June 30, 2019. Tyree said publicly during the October meeting, that he did not want to extend the contract past the 2019 date.  The only change to the contract was an increase of $1,311, the amount that teachers and administrators received following earlier negotiations.

The superintendent is evaluated by school board members. All salary increases are based on performance.

After the meeting, Tyree said, “I’m proud that we have never had to RIF (Reduction in force) when we went through a very tough financial times.”

Tyree joined the Central Office in 2008.
