CrashInvestigation_2Wednesday morning’s dense fog was a major contributing factor in a two vehicle crash at US 3 and Pioneer Drive.

Marshall County Police investigated a crash at the intersection about 2:30 in the morning involving a 2005 Freightliner Semi and a 2008 Chevrolet Impala.

According to evidence at the scene, the semi, driven by 34 year old Tolla Burayou of Minnesota was traveling east on US 30 approaching the intersection and disregarded the automatic signal that was red.  He rear-ended the Chevrolet Impala driven by 62 year old Alan Northam of Mishawaka.

The semi driver refused medical treatment while the Mr. Northam was transported to Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center of Plymouth for a complaint of pain.
