The Marshall County Extension Board, the oversight committee for Purdue Extension activities in Marshall County, will host its annual meeting on Tuesday, November 29, 2016. The meeting will be held in the Pretty Lake Church Fellowship Hall, located on State Road 17 west of Plymouth. The meeting will include a full meal, prepared by the church’s Mary & Martha Circle.
The Extension Board Annual Meeting will begin with registration and fellowship at 6:00 pm, with dinner served at 6:30 pm. This year’s featured speakers, Tracy Fox, President, Food, Nutrition & Policy Consultant, Angie Abbott, Health and Human Sciences Program Leader and Assistant Director at Purdue University, Karen Richey, Health and Human Sciences Educator, and Sandra Read, Community Wellness Coordinator will deliver their address, titled “Every Family Should Have Food on the Table” following dinner.
The speakers will be providing us with interesting and surprising words on the food insecurity in Marshall County. The entire Marshall County community is welcome and encouraged to attend. Tickets for the Marshall County Extension Board Annual Meeting are available through the Marshall County Extension Office or any current Extension Board member, at the cost of $12.50/ticket. Tickets must be purchased prior to November 21st. Current Extension Board members include: Sister Mary Baird, Linda Burch, Melissa Christiansen, Daniel Fehrenbach, Valerie Hite, Patricia Kitch, Tod Langfeldt, Scott Michel, Emily Howard, Donna Pontius, Sandy Ringer, Kyle Stackhouse, Linda Starr, and Andrew Suseland. The Junior Board members are Luke Snyder and Travis Owen.
The Purdue Extension Service is represented in Marshall County by Karen Richey, County Extension Director and Extension Educator for Health and Human Sciences and Robert Yoder, Extension Educator for Agriculture and Natural Resources. Sandy Read is the coordinator for Community Wellness Program. Nutrition Education Program Assistants include Kathe Beehler and Yolanda Gorka. Office support staff includes Angie Smith, 4-H Youth Development Assistant, Lindsay Schrader, 4-H Youth Development Secretary, and Maria Casbon, Health and Human Sciences and Ag and Natural Resources Secretary.
