MugShot_Carlos PiedraA traffic stop early Sunday morning ended with 2 juveniles being detained and a Fort Wayne man being arrested for Possession of Marijuana.

An officer with the Marshall County Police Department stopped a vehicle on US 30 near Fir Road about 3:45 for a traffic violation.

During the investigation it was determined that a male adult passenger, 21 year old Carlos Piedra of Fort Wayne was in Possession of Marijuana.  Piedra was lodged in the Marshall County Jail for Possession on a $500 cash bond.

Two juveniles in the vehicle were detained and later released to their parent for Possession of marijuana and Operating a vehicle Without ever receiving a License.

 

Listeners are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
