Monday afternoon members of the Marshall County Election Board, Deb VanDeMark, Sean Surrisi and Rick Huff certified the absentee ballots.
Registered voters who walked into the Clerk’s Office the past several weeks totaled 3,869. Satellite vote centers were open in Culver the past two Saturdays and 274 people took advantage to vote early while 399 voters cast their ballots in Bremen bringing the total walk in votes to 4,542.
The Marshall County Travel Board was busy across the county helping shut-ins vote in the presidential election. 334 voted with the Travel Board.
Mail in ballots were extremely high too with 848 voters from around the world casting their ballots for this election.
Adding all the absentee ballots together brings the grand total to 5,724 or approximately 17 percent of the registered voters.
Four years ago the total absentee voters was 4,013.
