On Wednesday October 27, at approximately 4:25 in the afternoon the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department responded to a two car accident on US 31 and Old US 31.
A car driven by 33 year old Ashley Minor of Rochester who had her two minor children was traveling south on Old US 31. As they were crossing the southbound lanes of US 31 they were struck by 30 year old Ashley Derf from Mentone who was southbound on US 31.
Ashley Minor and her two children were airifted by Samaritan to Parkview Hospital in Ft. Wayne. As of 9 pm Thursday evening they were listed in stable condition according to Parkview.
The second driver, Ashley Derf was taken to Woodlawn Hospital in Rochester and was treated and released.
Both lanes of US 31 were shut down for approximately one half hour due to accident and landing the helicopter. Assisting the Fulton County Sheriffs at the scene was Rochester Fire, Lutheran EMS, Samaritan Helicopter, and Fulton County Communications.
