road_workMonday evening the Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety opened bids for the fall street and sidewalk projects.

Projects include Hoham drive from Oak Drive to Western Avenue; Jim Neu Drive from Pioneer Drive to Oak Drive; Walter Glaub Drive from Jim Neu Drive to Jim Neu Drive; Pilgrim Lane from Oak Drive to Western Avenue; Washington Street from the dead end to Berrenbrook Street; Alexander Street from Bayless Street to Angel Street and Ewing Street from Bayless to Angle Street.

Five companies offered bids, E & B Paving from Rochester at $742,712; Rieth Riley from South Bend with a bid of $704,370; Walsh & Kelly from South Bend for $700,104; Niblock from Columbia City with a bid of $686,819 and Phend & Brown from Milford at $674,922.

Because we are getting late in the season, City Engineer Rick Gaul and Street Superintendent Jim Marquardt asked to review the bid documents and if everything is in order to move forward with the lowest and most responsive bid. This will allow the project to move forward two weeks faster.  The Board of Works will ratify the decision at their next meeting.
