BourbonPoliceOn Wednesday, September 21st, just before 9 p.m. Officer Matt Geiger with the Bourbon Police Department stopped a vehicle on U.S. 30 and Gumwood Road for speeding.  The vehicle was clocked at 91 in a 60 mph zone.

 

The officer found that the driver, 48 year old Joey A. Peate of South Bend had consumed alcohol and admitted to smoking marijuana. Mr. Peate failed field sobriety tests and was taken to Plymouth Hospital for a certified test where it showed Mr. Peate testing positive for the presence of marijuana in his system.

 

Joey Peate was placed under arrest for Operating a vehicle While under the Influence of a controlled substance. He was held on a cash bond of $1,500.00.
