Centennial Park_front gateDuring this week’s Plymouth Park Board meeting, member Allie Shook asked for free use of River Park Square for a performance on October 8th.

Kyle Davis with Discover Plymouth, the Main Street group is planning a FREE concert event that will be open to the public.  Davis requested use of the main stage and access to the concession area to give a few local restaurants the ability to market and sell products during the concert.

Andy Davis it tentatively scheduled and Davis indicated that he has been to Plymouth twice playing a great show.

The park board unanimously approved the request.

The park board also approved the request of PHS junior, Loren Mattern who wants to host a fundraiser for the Heminger House.

Mattern was granted approval to host a 5K Run.Walk against domestic abuse on October 22nd from 11 a.m. till 3 p.m.  She plans to have the runners meet at a shelter in the park for registration and utilize the Greenway Trail for the actual run.

All proceeds from the event will go directly to the Heminger House.  Mattern also plans to have the PHS Heart Club orchestrate a donation drive to ensure Heminger House has the necessities.

Loren Mattern said, “October is Domestic Abuse Awareness Month, and I thought this would be a great way for me to do my part!”
