Venetian DriveThe Marshall County Commissioners heard the request of Thomas and Debra Reinke who own four lots at the end of the cal-de-sac on Venetian Drive in the Venetian Village at Lake Maxinkuckee.

When purchasing the property in 1990 the Reinkes planned to use the additional lots as their “future.” Mr. Reinke said between the erosion and governmental constraints the four lots have been determined to be unbuildable. With the instillation of sewer lines he believes he could make two build-able lots if the county would vacate the street and cal-de-sac.

Mr. Reinke had Jason Peters from the County Highway Department visit the site and together they proposed a rectangle area the would allow vehicles to do a 3-point turn-around to exit the dead end. He said with the new lay-out the lots that would meet all the setback requirements.

The project Venetian Drive project at Lake Max received a favorable recommendation from the commissioners and will now head to the Culver Plan Commission for a subdivision replat.
