The acoustics at Jacoby Church are perfect for an old-fashioned Hymn Sing, so one is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. this Sunday, September 27.
The Hymn Sings are informal and “off the cuff” but always sound amazing. The public is invited to attend and learn more about the historic structure and join in the singing or just enjoy listening.
The 155 year-old structure is probably the oldest remaining church building in Marshall County. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places several years ago, along with the surrounding cemetery. Improvements and programs at Jacoby Church are organized by Wythougan Valley Preservation Council.
Pianist Diane Walter will play the vintage piano that has been in the building for well over 100 years.
Jacoby Church is located about a mile north of US 30 on King Road. There is no admission charge, but donations are always welcome.
