The Marshall County Historical Society will host another Brown Bag Lunch event this Friday, June 10th from noon till 1 p.m. at the County Museum in downtown Plymouth.

This month’s event is titled “Little Wanderers: Travelers with a One-Way Ticket on the Orphan Train.”  In May 1892, the local newspaper reported that an agent from the New England Home for Little Wanders was visiting area churches stirring interest in the hearts of citizens to adopt or foster a child.

Twenty-six children were put on display in Plymouth.  Reportedly all were placed over three days.  Karin Rettinger will be the guest speaker.   She will share fascinating stories of some of the children placed in Marshall County.

The Brown Bag Lunch event is held the second Friday of each month April through October.  Participants are encouraged to bring a lunch to enjoy during the talk.  The event is FREE of charge as a community event by the Marshall County Museum for citizens of the county.
