The Bremen Chamber of Commerce and Bremen Police Department would like to invite the community to a Memorial Service on Tuesday May 13th at 5:00pm at the Bremen Police Department in cooperation with National Police Officer Memorial Week. Light refreshments will be provided.

National Police Officer Memorial Week is May 11th through May 17th. It was created to honor fallen law enforcement officers through out the United States.  Last year approximately 111 federal, state and local law enforcement officers gave the supreme sacrifice and were killed in the line of duty.  On average 140 – 160 law enforcement officers are killed in the line of duty every year. The number of police officers killed on the job skyrocketed 40% in 2010 and 24% in 2011. The fatality rate for police officers per 100,000 is 18. To date this year there have been 32 police officers killed in the line of duty.

The Bremen Chamber and Police Department invite you to join them on May 13 for their Memorial Service and take a moment during this week to remember all police officers and pay honor to the law enforcement officers who were killed or injured in the line of duty while serving their communities.
