02/13/14 The Ancilla College Golf Ball Drop is a fundraiser being held by Ancilla College as a part of their annual golf outing. Eligible participants completing an entry form may purchase a golf ball for a $5 donation or a package of balls at various costs. Each purchase results in a numbered golf ball associated with the participant and all golf balls sold are available to view online. There is no limit to the number of entries an individual can purchase.
On the day of the golf outing (June 9, 2014), a maximum of 2000 consecutively numbered golf balls will be dropped from above a marked flag with a make-shift hole on the driving range at the Plymouth Country Club golf course. The participant whose golf ball goes into the hole first receives 15% of the money collected from the ball drop, not to exceed $1000. If no ball goes in the hole, then the ball closest to the hole wins. The winner does not need to be present to win.
