09/17/13 The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announces numerous restrictions for traffic on both U.S. 31 and the U.S. 20 Bypass near the Michigan Street exit beginning Tuesday, September 17th through Tuesday, September 24th. In addition, there will be brief 20 minute complete closures of U.S. 31, just south of the U.S. 20 Bypass, on Thursday, September 19th and Friday, September 20th. All restrictions are due to crews setting bridge beams for the new Jackson Road Bridge, spanning over U.S. 31, just south of the Bypass. (Detailed maps of restrictions below.)

To avoid delays drivers are encouraged to avoid this stretch of U.S. 31 entirely on Thursday and Friday, September 19-20.

Tuesday and Wednesday, September 17-18

 

       Closed: Ramp from northbound U.S. 31 to eastbound U.S. 20

Thursday and Friday, September 19-20

       Closed: Ramp from northbound U.S. 31 to eastbound U.S. 20

       Closed: Ramp from eastbound U.S. 20 to southbound U.S. 31

       Closed: Northbound and southbound driving lanes of U.S. 31, between Bypass and Johnson Rd

       Two, 20 minute complete closures of U.S. 31, between Bypass and Johnson Rd

       Closed: Ramp from eastbound U.S. 20 to southbound U.S. 31
