09/16/13 The Marshall County Drainage Board will meet this morning (9/16/13) at 8:30 a.m. in the second floor meeting room of the County Building.  Their short agenda for the meeting includes a discussion of a drainage problem with the Warner Drain and Ballinger Drain on the west side of US 31 near Kenilworth Road, south of Argos.  Jerry Carpenter appeared before the County Commissioners during their meeting two weeks ago bringing the issue to their attention.  The issue is that Carpenter has been clearing the drain for many years but can no longer do it due to his age.  The commissioners feel that the area in question should be under the control of the State of Indiana.

In other business the Drainage Board will appoint a member to the Kankakee River Basin Commission.

At 9:30 the Marshall County Commissioners will meet in their second floor meeting room of the County Building.  Their agenda includes Glenn Roberts discussing the NISPCO power lines and County Clerk Julie Fox presenting her plans for an office remodeling project.  The Commissioner will also hear the Highway report, County Attorney report and Auditor’s report.

The public is urged to attend one of both meetings and comment and questions are welcomed.
