09/05/13 Congresswoman Jackie Walorski released the following statement after Governor Mike Pence announced that his administration negotiated an agreement to continue the Healthy Indiana Plan (HIP) with the federal government through December 31, 2014:
“The Healthy Indiana Plan is a proven and effective program that allows Hoosiers to take personal responsibility for their health care, and I am pleased that participants were granted a waiver from Washington to continue utilizing their preferred plan. With an over 90 percent participant satisfaction rate, HIP is regarded as a model for other states and the appropriate choice for Hoosiers, instead of insufficient alternatives like Obamacare.”
In May, Walorski joined members of the Indiana Congressional Delegation to send a letter of support to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for the State of Indiana’s application for renewal of its 1115 Medicaid Waiver to extend HIP.
