Kern Road Closure Begins Next Week for New U.S. 31 Project

  08/22/13 The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announces the closure of Kern Road to all traffic, between U.S. 31 and Locust Road, beginning Monday, August 26^th through Wednesday, September 4^th. The closure is necessary as crews construct an interchange for the new U.S. 31 project.

PLEASE NOTE: To accommodate Labor Day weekend traffic, crews will reopen Kern Road Friday afternoon, August 30^th through Monday, September 2^nd. The roadway will then close once more Tuesday morning through Wednesday, September 4^th.

During the closure, westbound traffic will be detoured north on U.S. 31, west on Ireland Road, south on Locust Road, and back to Kern Road. Eastbound traffic will travel north on Locust Road, east on Ireland Road, south on U.S. 31, and back to Kern Road.
