08/14/13 Earthworks will hold a unique fundraiser on Saturday, August 24 at 6pm. Planned to benefit Earthworks’ programs for children, particularly those with special needs, the Farm to Fork Dinner will be held at the beautiful Aker Farm on 13th Road.
Earthworks’ Farm to Fork dinner will be a true farm-to-table dinner, showcasing local foods, and local culinary talent. The event will begin with an appetizer hour – wine, beer and a silent auction, accompanied by lovely live harp music. Appetizers will be followed by an elegant three-course, all-local foods dinner prepared by Brad Hindsley, executive chef of The Spire Farm to Fork Restaurant in LaPorte. Tables will be situated outdoors alongside the creek, and guests will dine to the accompaniment of The Dean’s List jazz combo.
Earthworks’ event is designed as a celebration that will reconnect folks to the source of our food, and honor the talented farmers, bakers, brewers, and chefs who contribute to our local food community.
