07/15/13 Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating a possible drowning at Lake Maxinkuckee near Culver, which occurred on Sunday, July 14th at approximately 7:30 p.m.
Valentin Sirghi, 22, of Plymouth was swimming at the Culver Beach when friends noticed him missing. Sirghi’s body was recovered at approximately 8:00 p.m. and CPR was immediately started. Sirghi was pronounced dead at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center in Plymouth at approximately 8:30 p.m.
The official cause of death will not be known until the autopsy report is completed and the coroner has made a final determination. Other agencies assisting at the scene were Culver PD, Culver FD, and Culver EMS personnel.
