07/01/13 The Plymouth Water Department is reminding customers that hydrant flushing of the water mains will begin today and continue for the next two months.   Water main flushing is used as an effort to maintain quality service to the customers of Plymouth.

Water department employees will begin flushing mains today,(Monday, July 1st) at 6:00 a.m. and continue until approximately 4:00 p.m.  The water main flushing will be every week day over the next two months.  They are scheduled to start in the southeast section of Plymouth and will run the water mains from the Ledyard Plant to the water towers.  The second week they will run the water mains from the Pine Road plant to the water towers.  The third week they will begin to move into neighborhoods.  The water department will try and update WTCA daily with landmarks of where they will be flushing hydrants.

Normally there should not be any discoloration in your water while this procedure is taking place.  In the rare instance that you should experience discoloration you are asked to run your cold water to flush the line.  If your water does not clear after 15-20 minutes or you have any question contact the Plymouth Water Department at 936-2543.
