01/24/13 Congresswoman Jackie Walorski (IN-02) Wednesday released the following statement regarding the passage of the No Budget, No Pay Act, H.R. 325:

“I am pleased with the bipartisan passage of the No Budget, No Pay Act today on the House floor.  This legislation clearly signals to the American people that Washington is serious about passing a budget and restoring fiscal sanity.

“The truth is that American families sit around their kitchen tables and make tough choices to keep a budget, and Congress must do the same.  It has been four years since the Senate passed a budget, and Washington needs to prove this Congress will not continue with business as usual.  Hoosiers in the Second District expect lawmakers to work together to solve our fiscal challenges using common sense principles, and this bill is a step in the right direction.

“It is time to hold Washington accountable and get spending under control to prevent further damage to our economy, small businesses, and hardworking families.  I urge the Senate to resonate this message by passing the No Budget, No Pay Act immediately.”
