07/16/13 Michael Stephan, Executive Director of Potawatomi Wildlife Park was excited to have the Cub Scouts use the park this summer.  Once again Potawatomi Wildlife Park was the host site for the annual Marshall County Cub Scout Day-Camp held this summer. Cub Scouts from packs throughout Marshall County enjoyed the pirate themed 2-day event.

The major Cub Scout event included five stations involving crafts, BB-gun, fishing, archery, and an elaborate Pirate 101 obstacle course. The course included elaborate obstacles including practicing their cannon techniques by shooting water balloons at a ship enabling the boys to earn their spot on a pirate ship’s crew.

Additional activities included a treasure hunt using a treasure map to search the park property for treasure chests full of prizes.

Next year’s theme is Native American and plans are to incorporate Potawatomi Wildlife Park’s rich Native American history into the programming.
