12/17/12 The Senate began accepting page requests on Dec. 10 for the upcoming legislative session, which runs from Jan. 7 to April 29. The page program gives students in grades six through 12 the opportunity to learn about state government firsthand by participating in the legislative process for a day.

Interested students should apply online here or send letters to their senators by mail. All requests must include:

  • Student’s name
  • Address
  • Home telephone number
  • Age
  • School affiliation

Friends wanting to page on the same day should send requests together. After the page office processes the requests, students will receive confirmation of their scheduled dates to serve.

Serving as a page is an excused absence from school. Pages must arrive at the Statehouse by 8:30 a.m. to begin their orientation. Parents are responsible for pages’ transportation, and pages should plan on bringing a lunch or money to buy a meal.
