12/05/12 This Friday, December 7th at 10 a.m. CST a 26 foot Concolor Fir growing at Hensler Nursery will be cut for Indiana’s Statehouse Rotunda.  Assisting the process to gently lower the tree will be the Kankakee Valley’s REMC in Wanatah.

This special Fir tree will be gently place on a trailer for transport to Indianapolis and will be on display at Hensler’s over the weekend.  The presentation will be on Wednesday, December 12th in the Statehouse building beginning in the Governor’s office about 9 a.m.

For over 25 years, Hensler Nursery, of Starke County, has been providing Indiana’s Statehouse Christmas tree.  Additionally, Hensler Nursery will be providing a fresh 8 foot Fir tree to the Lt. Governor .  This is part of a larger project conducted by Indiana’s Christmas Tree Growers Association to bring fresh live Christmas trees to the heart of Indiana’s government, Among other offices, Indiana’s growers will be providing fresh trees to the Governor, the Department of Education, Department of Forestry, Department of Natural Resources, and the Department of Agriculture.
