DONALDSON, INDIANA – The Ancilla College softball team finished off their regular season with a double header sweep of Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA) Western Conference foe Glen Oaks Community College by scores of 11-0 and 7-1.

Trisha Dillon pitched a one hit shutout in game one and received some two hit performances from Kaitlyn Dreibelbis, Gretchen Gieseking, Maura Hancock, and Kayla Dell. Dell ended the game with 3 RBI, while Alysha Faler notched 2 RBI of her own.

Emily Steele scattered five hits in her game two victory, allowing one unearned run. The Chargers entered the bottom of the sixth down 1-0, but put together a seven run sixth inning to earn the victory. The big hit in the inning was a bases clearing triple from Gieseking. Hancock finished game two with two hits.

Ancilla finishes their regular season 34-16 and 17-15 in the MCCAA West, tied for fourth. It is the highest finish in conference in school history, along with the most overall wins, most conference wins, and best winning percentage in both categories.

The Chargers travel to Battle Creek, Michigan for the first round of the NJCAA Region XII District G Tournament in a matchup with Grand Rapids Community College. The game starts at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 9.
