PLYMOUTH – The Ancilla College men’s basketball team snapped a three game losing streak on Saturday with a 94-84 victory over Indiana University-Kokomo at the LifePlex.

The Chargers (6-3) were led by Alexander Hutson’s 21 points and 10 assists, including his buzzer-beating half court shot to close out the first half.

With the victory, Ancilla clinched its first non-conference winning season since 2004.

Four other players reached double figures in scoring, including Ben Gilbert (16), Joby Renbarger (13), Jordan Coe (10), and Jazz Drane (10).

Renbarger also collected 11 rebounds to record the double-double.

“Our unselfishness was the main reason for our offensive success,” said Ancilla head coach Greg Neeley.  “We shared the ball and made smart decisions.”

Ancilla shot nearly 60 percent from the floor, including 6-of-11 from behind the arc.  Indiana University-Kokomo was held to just 33 percent in the second half on 15-of-45 shooting.

The Chargers resume play on Wednesday when they travel to Oglesby, IL, to play Illinois Valley Community College.  Tipoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. EDT.
