02/25/11 County Police Officer Nick Laffoon investigated two accidents during Monday’s severe weather.  At 8:23 a.m. he was dispatched to State Road 17 wet of Pretty Lake Trail for a single vehicle accident.  42 year old Thomas Huff of Plymouth was east bound on S.R. 17 in a 2007 GMC Sierra approaching Pretty Lake Trail when he lost control of the vehicle on the ice covered roadway.  The vehicle ran off the north side of the road and rolled at least once, coming to rest upside down.  Huff refused medical treatment.  Officer Laffoon was assisted by Plymouth Fire and EMS.

At 11:35 a.m. Officer Laffoon responded to a single vehicle crash on 16th Road east of Linden Road.  A 1999 Jeep Cherokee driven by 35 year old Mary Edwards of Argos was westbound on 16th Road approaching Linden when Edwards lost control of the vehicle on the ice covered roadway.  The Jeep ran off the road on the south side and struck a tree before it came to rest in a field.  All three occupants were transported to Woodlawn Hospital in Rochester for minor injuries.  The two passengers in the vehicle were 14 year old Amelia Edwards and 12 year old Samantha Edwards.  County Police were assisted by Argos Police, Fire and EMS.

Wednesday, February 23rd at 12:45 p.m. Officer Laffoon investigated a two vehicle crash on Sage Trail south of 1th Road.  A 2006 Dodge Dakota driven by 25 year old Ryan Houin of Bremen was south bound on Sage Trail in the curve south of 11th Road.  Houin lost control on the ice covered roadway and traveled left of center, striking a 2004 Ford Taurus driven by 66 year old Karen Ronk of Plymouth.  Ronk was traveling north bound on Sage Trail and was unable to avoid Houin’s vehicle.   No injuries were reported and Officer Laffoon indicated that the road conditions were slick and hazardous at the time of the collision.
