12/14/10 All six golf courses located in Marshall County raised $12,670 for the United Way of Marshall County 2010 Campaign.   The golf courses and United Way partnered to create a “Golf Card” which entitled the bearer to one free round of golf at each of the six courses for a donation of $50. All of the proceeds (100%) went to United Way in support of their income, education, and health goals in Marshall County.

The value of playing all six courses was over $200 and cards were available at the Pilot News, WTCA, Yoder’s, the United Way office, and all of the golf courses: Indiana National Golf Club at Swan Lake, Mystic Hills Golf Club, Plymouth Country Club, Plymouth Rock Golf Course, Sprig O’Mint Golf Club, and Tri-Way Golf Club.

Sales of the golf card this year exceeded expectations and reflect an increase of 16% over last year!  “We’re pleased we can help the United Way with this partnership,” said Pat Bayley, director of golf at the Indiana National Golf Club at Swan Lake.  J.D. Hull, golf professional at Sprig O’Mint Golf Club added “It’s been good for golfers, good for the courses, and good for the community.  We’re looking forward to participating next year!”

The United Way of Marshall County extends its sincere thanks to the Marshall County Golf Courses and their golf pros for their support of needed services in our community.

2011 Golf Cards will go on sale February 3rd at the United Way’s annual Donor and Volunteer Recognition Event at 5:30 pm at Christos’ Banquet Center.
