10/29/10 The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) is hiring 114 on-call snow plow drivers and mechanics this winter to supplement its statewide army of 1,700 winter operations employees. INDOT will be accepting applications through November 3.
“Seasonal snow plow driver and mechanic positions provide an excellent opportunity to earn extra money while making Indiana’s highways safer,” said INDOT Chief Operations Officer Troy Woodruff. “Qualified professionals who drive or service construction equipment during the warmer months should consider these positions for winter work.”
Employment for these seasonal positions is limited to the winter months, and hours will vary each week based upon weather and need. All applicants must pass a drug test, and drivers must have previously earned a Commercial Drivers License.
