09/24/10 A recent investigation into the proper registration of a Sex Offender by Detective Lt. Ward Byers led to the Monday, September 20, arrest of Fred Nicolas Gonzalez, age 34 of Plymouth.
Gonzalez a registered sex offender was last registered in the 1600 block of North Michigan Street in Plymouth. The investigation found Gonzalez had been living in an apartment in the 1200 block of Lincolnway East in Plymouth.
The apartment was within 1,000 feet of a licensed daycare facility.
Gonzalez was arrested on Monday, September 20 and has been formally charged with:
1) Failure to Register as a Sex or Violent Offender, Class D Felony
2) Illegal Sex Offender Residency, Class D Felony
His bond has been set at $10,000 cash.
Gonzalez is required to register as a result of a 1994 conviction in Texas for Sexual Assault and a 2000 conviction also in Texas for Indecency with a Child.
Gonzalez remains in the Marshall County Jail.
