09/23/10 The 12th annual Harvest Festival of Bands will be held at Plymouth High School on Saturday October 9th. The Pride of Plymouth High School Marching band and P.H.S. Music Boosters will host up to 17 bands from areas within a 60 mile radius.
The event begins at 4:00 PM with the host Plymouth performing at the end of the competition at approximately 9:15 PM with judges’ awards to follow. Admission is $6.00 with discounts for seniors or children.
Jeff Jones said, “As booster members, we are all extremely proud of The Pride of Plymouth and their continued success the past several seasons. After 2 contests so far this season, they are coming on strong and already ranked 8th in the state according Bryan Ames, P.H.S. Band Director.” Jones continued, “At Goshen last weekend, they won all the awards in their class which is the first time for this accomplishment in over a decade!” Plymouth goes on to the Penn Invitational this upcoming weekend and the music boosters invite the public to go and show your support!
Speaking of support, Anco Office Products is in charge of gathering sponsors for the program at the Harvest Festival and will be printing and providing the $2.00 booklets free of charge to the boosters. According to Jones, this could be a major fundraiser for the music department if businesses or individuals wish to purchase an ad (as in the past) for the program. Business card size ads start at only $25.00 while ¼ page and ½ page display ads are $50.00 and $100.00 respectively.
