The Plymouth Kiwanis group held their officers installation dinner this week at Pretty Lake Trinity United Methodist Church and welcomed their new president as well as honoring distinguished members.

Dale Cramer, Vice President of Commercial Lending of Lake City Bank in Plymouth was elected president for the new fiscal year. Cramer replaces Dot Taiclet of Argos who led the Plymouth civic group during its most successful year in its fundraising efforts which benefit local youth. New board members for the year are Fr. William Kummer of St. Michael’s Church and Maria Pesak of Schoberg Appraisals.

Tom Sibal, Associate Director of Institutional Advancement of Ancilla College, was named as Kiwanian of the year. Sibal was honored for his dedication to Kiwanis during the past year when he served as a board member, chairman of the Peanut Committee and for his work on the monthly Kiwanis newsletter. Sibal says “Our monthly newsletter is important for all our members to stay up to date on the workings of the club. It used to be produced by our former treasurer Charlie Bradley of Argos who passed away last year. Charlie gave so much to Kiwanis and I wanted to bring the newsletter back after his passing and want to dedicate this honor in his memory.”

In addition to Sibal, a number of other Kiwanians were presented with certificates for the past year of service to the club and service on the board.

Following the dinner the Kiwanians held an auction of a variety of items donated by its members to benefit the group’s administrative fund. The auction netted $600.

Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world, one child and once community at a time. The Plymouth Kiwanis meet each Tuesday at noon at Christo’s Banquet Center in Plymouth and interested new members are always welcome. For more information contact Tom Sibal at 935-8442.
