The Marshall County Church Orchestra will present its fourth and last Outdoor Community Concert of their summer season on Sunday, September 12, 2010 at Miller’s Senior Living Community.  They welcome their guest performers from the Argos Walnut Church of the Brethren as the church choir will perform during intermission.  The outdoor concert is free of charge and open to the public.

    The fourth Outdoor Community Concert coincides with Miller’s annual celebration of National Assisted Living Week.  The Community is invited to arrive early for the concert as Mayor Senter will be on hand at 5:00 p.m. making an official proclamation about National Assisted living Week.  Hot dogs, chips, and drinks will be served to all who attend.  The concert will then start at 6:00 p.m.  Those attending are asked to bring their lawn chairs or blankets and prepare to enjoy and evening of food, fun and fellowship with the orchestra and choir.

   Under the direction of Don Harness the orchestra will play a variety of classical, sacred hymns, and contemporary selections.  Judy Hall of Argos will lead the choir in hymns and contemporary songs.  The two groups will combine their voices and instruments with a tribute to America and our soldiers past and present with a selection titled “Within These Hallowed Halls”. 

    The orchestra will finish out the music year with their annual concert and dessert held at Christo’s Banquet Center on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 18 and 19.  The orchestra will join with dancers from Lifeplex and present selections from “The Nutcracker” by Pytor Ilyich Tchaikovsky.  For more information about these performances or to join the orchestra please call Don Harness at 1-574-936-7357.
