With the Blue Berry Festival fast approaching residents of Miller’s Senior Living Community would like the public to know that not all the action is taking place on the North end of town.  Marketing Director Anna Corbett would like to remind the public of the AARP blueberry pancake breakfast taking place on Friday, September 3 from 7:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. at the Miller’s facility located at 625 W. Oakhill Ave. in Plymouth.

The fun will continue as a shuttle is provided for residents to attend the festival throughout the day on Friday.  On Monday, September 6 Miller’s will be represented in the Blue Berry Parade with a float and an appearance by the 2010 Mardi Gras King, Ike Huls.

The festivities continue at Miller’s Senior Living Community on Monday afternoon as local entertainer and fan favorite Quentin Flagg presents an outdoor concert under the carport.  The concert begins at 2:00 p.m. and will take place rain or shine.

Flagg travels the U.S. and performs his high-energy show for thousands; but, he has reserved the Labor Day weekend to perform in his hometown area for the local fans.  He will appear Saturday evening at the annual Culver Film Festival and on Monday at Miller’s.

Many may remember Flagg as an Elvis impersonator.   “I no longer impersonate,” explained Flagg.  “I love all styles of music especially the music I grew up with.  Some of my local fans haven’t seen me for a while and they may be surprised to see that I perform all styles of music as myself.”

“Q” as he is known to his family and friends presents a family show that keep you guessing what style of music he will perform next.  You will hear the music of Bobby Darin, Elvis, Mellencamp, Dean Martin, Sinatra, Neil Diamond, the fifties and sixties rock and roll plus much more.

Although Q loves traveling to the many places his gigs take him he is especially pleased to perform for his hometown fans that have supported him from the beginning of his career.

“This is my way of giving back to my family and friends who have been there for me through the ups and downs of my entertainment life,” shared Flagg. “I’ve been traveling quite a bit and it will be good to see some of my friends and fans I haven’t seen for awhile.”

The public is invited to bring a lawn chair and a picnic lunch and enjoy a relaxing time of great music and fun in the idyllic setting that Miller’s provides.  Popcorn and lemonade will also be provided. For more information about the AARP blueberry pancake breakfast or the concert please call 1-574-936-9801 and ask for Anna Corbett or Cindy Flagg.
