There is still time to join Potawatomi Wildlife Park this Saturday, June 19, for Park’s fourth annual canoe trip down the Tippecanoe River through the seldom seen upper reaches of what the Nature Conservancy terms “one of the ten most important rivers in the country to preserve.” Two lengths of trip are available, both ending at the Potawatomi Wildlife Park where lunch will be provided.

The long trip, 6.2 miles, check in at park is at 8:00 a.m.  The short trip, 3.4 miles, has a check in at park at 9:30 a.m.

This event has proven to be a popular Father’s Day weekend treat. The part does note the water level of the Tippecanoe can vary dramatically changing an easy float into an adventure. Less experienced canoeists should call ahead a week before the trip for an update on water levels.

Cost is $15 per person, all canoes, equipment and lunch provided. Space is limited; reserve your place by emailing park@getintonature.com or calling 574-498-6550. Be sure to mention if you’re reserving for the Long or Short Trip.

Potawatomi Wildlife Park reserves the right to cancel this event due to last minute river conditions.
