03/10/10 A Plymouth man has been hired by Electric Motors Corporation as their new chief financial operator. Public accountant Roger Umbaugh has been named to the position and will oversee investor relations for EMC.

Electric Motors Corporation has moved its headquarters from Wakarusa to Plymouth.

Last month, new president Frank Jenkins said the company was going to hire about 200 people to work in its Wakarusa facility this summer. The company says it will return to Elkhart County for its manufacturing needs.

The company issued a statement Tuesday saying, "The building in Wakarusa was great. It was simply too large and expensive for our company today. We are still committed to Elkhart County for our manufacturing and assembly, and will return to an Elkhart facility more suited to those functions in the near future."
